Wow!!! The Level 4 girls rocked the Milky Way Classic! All five girls, Alexis Miera, Annie Hilton, Marissa Thorsen, Tiffany Berlin and Rene Kum took 1st Place All Around in their age divisions. Alexis Miera and Annie Hilton swept their age divisions and there were a total of 17 event & all around first places among the five girls! Way to go girls!!

Congratulations to Ashley Stott, Megan Jimenez and Kami Amemiya-Shows who attended the National Elite Qualifier in Texas. Ashley qualified to the 2008 Visa Championships as a Senior International Elite. Megan passed the Compulsory portion of the testing and Kami passed the Optional portion of the HOPES testing.

Level 8, 9 & 10 Region 1 Championships
Congratulations to our 4 new Regional Champions: Kristyn Hoffa- Level 8 Floor Champion; Alex Newkirk- Level 8 All Around Champion; Kayla DeFrancesco- Level 9 All Around Champion & Megan Jimenez- Level 10 Bar Champion. Congratulations to the following gymnasts who have qualified to the Level 9 Western Championships in St. Louis, MO on May 9-11: Solveig Buciak, Kayla DeFrancesco, Emily Jurado, Salome Kwon, Mari Reeve, Devin Sheridan. These gymnasts have also qualified to the Regional Team at Level 9 Westerns by finishing in the Top 6 All Around in their age divisions. Sarah Garcia made the 38.00 All Around Club and Alex Newkirk, Jamie Yamashita, Kristyn Hoffa, Solveig Buciak and Kayla DeFrancesco all made the 37.00 All Around Club. Congratulations to all of the girls on a fantastic season!!

Congratulations to our new Spring Level 4 Girls who competed in their first meet, the Cash Bash 2008. This was a non-placing meet but the girls posted some very impressive scores! Great job girls!

Congratulations to our Level 7 Girls for an outstanding State Meet where they took 3rd place! Our new Level 7 State Champions are: Taylor Pamplin- Vault; Marissa Curiel- Bars & Floor; Courtney Spitzer- Bars; Noelle Wilson- Floor and Caileigh Clermont- Floor. Almost all of the girls scored over a 37.00 and 3 girls joined the 38.00 club- Kiana Keller, Marissa Curiel & Courtney Spitzer. Congratulations Level 7 Girls on a spectacular season!!

All Level 8, 9 & 10 girls qualified to Regionals at their State Meet this weekend!! The Level 8 team won 4th place, the Level 9 team won 3rd place and the Level 10 team won 6th place. We also have 3 new state champions: Alex Newkirk- Level 8 Vault; Mari Reeve- Level 9 Bars and Devin Sheridan- Level 9 Bars & Floor. Sarah Garcia and Kristyn Hoffa also made the 37.00 AA Club. Congratulations to all of the girls!! Now it's off to Regionals in Long Beach. Good luck girls!

Congratulations to the Optional Girls Team who dominated the Chinese New Year Meet in Arizona! We had two Level 7 teams who won 1st and 2nd place. The Level 8 & 9 teams also won 1st place and the Level 10 team took 2nd! There were 7 All Around Champions: Juwon Kang, Madison Stevens, Chanel Leitgeb, Kristyn Hoffa, Mari Reeve, Solveig Buciak and Ashley Stott along with 17 event champions!! The SCEGA Optional girls continue to rock!! Level 7, 8 & 9 teams took 1st place at the Heart of a Champion meet. There were 7 All Around champions: Kiana Keller, Madison Stevens, Noelle Wilson, Kristyn Hoffa, Jamie Yamashita, Salome Kwon and Mari Reeve with an additional 23 individual first places! Kiana Keller, Taylor Pamplin and Madison Stevens also joined the 38.000 Club. Next it's off to Arizona for the Chinese New Year meet. Good luck girls! _____________________ |
The SCEGA Girls dominated the California Classic!!! Level 7, 8 & 9 teams took first place and there were eight All Around Champions!! Caileigh Clermont, Kiana Keller, Taylor Pamplin, Kristyn Hoffa, Sarah Garcia, Alyssa Munoz, Jamie Yamashita and Salome Kwon all took first place All Around in their age divisions. Great job girls! |
Despite injuries and illnesses, the optional girls still made a good showing at the Surf City Classic. There were 20 1st places on events and four All Around champions: Kristyn Hoffa, Marissa Curiel, Sarah Garcia and Salome Kwon. Two more records were broken: Kristyn Hoffa tied with a 9.800 on vault and Marissa Curiel broke the record with a 9.850 on floor! Kristyn and Marissa also joined the 38.000 club with scores of 38.525 and 38.200. Our Level 7 & 9 Teams took 1st place and our Level 8 & 10 Teams took 3rd place. Next it's off to conquer at our very own California Classic!

Congratulations to the Girls Optional Team who had a great meet at the Metroplex Challenge in Texas. The Level 7 Team took 2nd place; the Level 8 Team took 3rd place; and the Level 9 Team took 2nd place! Also there were two Record Breakers in Texas: Sarah Garcia got a 9.675 on Vault breaking the old Level 8 record which was a 9.625 and Caileigh Clermont got a 38.550 All Around breaking the old Level 7 record which was a 38.400! |
