The Optional girls rocked the California Classic! Level 7, 8 & 10 teams took 1st place and the Level 9 team, with only 3 girls, took 2nd! The SCEGA Optional girls performed well at the "Lights, Camera, Action" meet in Los Angeles! The Level 7 team won 2nd place; the Level 8 team won 1st place and the Level 9 team won 3rd place. There were 12 event champions and 3 All Around champions. Taking home a 1st place award were: Rene Kum (Vault); Brooke Moore (Floor); Taya Yelton (Beam); Renee Zografos (Bars & All Around); Karen Gonzalez (Beam & Floor); Rebecca Stone (Floor); Brooke Young (Beam & All Around); Kelsey Barnes (Floor); Kiana Keller (Bars, Floor & All Around) and Taylor Bennion (Vault). Joining the 37.00 club were: Rene Kum, Brooke Moore & Daria Osborn.

Congratulations to the Girls Optional Team at the Lady Luck Invitational in Las Vegas this past weekend. There were 24 1st place finishes! Also, congratulations to the Level 7 and 8 teams who took first place! Congratulations to SCEGA Flips for the Cure! SCEGA's team in the Race for the Cure has raised over $1500 for this very worthy cause. Madison Frethy is the top fundraiser so far with over $322. Everyone had a great time in our bright green shirts on race morning. Over 11,000 runners and walkers took part in the inspiring event and SCEGA is proud to have participated. _______________________

Sophina DeJesus wins the Gold Medal on floor at her first international competition as part of the USA National Team! Sophina, at the 2009 Junior Japan International Competition in Yokohama, Japan, also took 5th place on vault, 4th place on bars and 5th place on beam. She also finished 4th All Around in the All Around competition. Congratulations Sophina! We are so proud of you! ___________________________

Congratulations to Sophina DeJesus who placed 9th at the most prestigious meet in the United States: The Visa Championships in Dallas Texas. As a Junior International Elite Sophina was in 16th place after her first day of competition. On the 2nd day she soared to 9th place securing a place on the Jr. National Team! Sophina was also one of two Jr. National Team Members to be selected to represent the U.S. at her first international meet in Japan in September! Way to go, Sophina! For more information: |

 The Level 4 Mini Team Takes 1st Place at State!
The Level 4, 5 & 6 Girls took the State Competition by storm with the regular Level 4 team taking 2nd and the Level 5 & 6 Teams taking 3rd Place. There were an incredible 33 event State Champions and 13 AA State Champions!
Level 4 Champions were: Brianne Aguigui, Kianna Furlong, April Ginez,Alysen Fears, Alexis Gonzalez, Shelby Weidler & Cailyn Brown. The Level 5 Champions were: Tiffany Berlin, Alexis Miera & Madison Loomis. Level 6 Champions were: Chloe Rogers, Kindred Clelland & Annie Hilton. Scoring 37.00 or higher were Brianne, Kianna, April, Alexis, Shelby, Cailyn, Tiffany, Alexis Miera, Madison, Zoe Zografos,Bailey James, Ruby Hernandez, Mikaela Johnson, Tatumn McCart & Rebecca Greenberg. Congratulations to Rebecca Stone, Rene Kum and Annie Hilton who qualified to the National TOPS Team! This means that they were in the top 100 gymnasts out of the 300 who qualified to the National Testing. They will be attending the National TOPS Camp in December. Congratulations to all of our gymnasts who qualified to the National TOPS Testing!
