Q. How do I get to SCEGA Gymnastics?

Q. How do I enroll my child?
A. You can call SCEGA at 951.699.4499 to set up a trial class. You can look at the schedules on the web site, but you will need to call to check on current class availability. For your convenience you may download the registration forms and fill them out prior to visiting SCEGA.

Q. Can my child have a trial class?
A. The first class is always complimentary at SCEGA.

Q. At what age can my child start gymnastics?
A.  Children as young as 16 months may enroll in our Sparkler class, which is a parent participation class.

Q. At what age can my child attend class by himself/herself?
A. At around 3 and a half years students can usually attend the Mini Star class by themselves. All children are different and some students can benefit from attendng a few of the parent participation classes with mom or dad before attending classes on their own.

Q. What is the student/teacher ratio?
A. The ratio varies by level. See class schedules for specific ratios.

Q. How much do classes cost?
A. Tuition varies according to the length of the class and the number of classes per week. Prices are listed in each class section of the web site.

Q. Are there any other costs?
A. There  is a yearly registration fee of $30 per student/ $25 for each sibling.

Q. Is there a discount if I have more than more than one student enrolled?
A. There is a 10% discount for the 2nd child enrolled, 15% for the 3rd, 20% for the 4th, and 25% for any additional students in a family (discounts based on tuition amounts).

Q. What is the payment policy?
A.  SCEGA tuition is due on the first of each month and late on the tenth. A $10 late fee will be assessed. SCEGA accepts checks, cash, Mastercard, Visa and ATM cards. Automatic charge to your credit card is available. See secretaries for forms. SCEGA does not send out bills. SCEGA has a no refund policy. In case of injury or extended illness, please see the director.

Q. What if my child has to miss a class?
A. SCEGA does not offer make up classes. However, tuition is based on a 4 week month with no additional charge for the 5th week when applicable. This will cover the occasional missed class. Any classes missed due to holidays observed by SCEGA may be made up in classes specially scheduled for makeups.

Q. What should my child wear?
A. No specific attire is required. Clothing should be comfortable and stretchy with no zippers or buckles. Students are barefoot in the gym. Long hair should be pulled back and no jewelry should be worn during class. SCEGA has a pro-shop which has an extensive selection of leotards and other gymnastic attire.

Q. What kind of experience do your coaches have?
A. SCEGA is proud of its highly qualified, professional and safety certified staff. Many of our coaches have multiple years of experience in both gymnastics competition and coaching. Our coaches attend many clinics and gymnastics conventions to obtain the latest in coaching skills.

Q. How can I observe my child in classes?
A. Parents are welcome to observe classes from our observation windows at any time. Due to space and distractions, there is no in-gym observaton unless cleared with the director.

Q. Can I leave the gym while my child is in class?
A. For children older than 5 years it is okay to leave while your child is in class. Please be sure your child knows to wait in the gym for you and that the staff has your current contact phone numbers. For children under 5 years, we prefer the parent not leave the gym in case the child needs to use the restroom or has other concerns.

Q. How does my child move up through the programs at SCEGA?
A. All of the skill levels at SCEGA have a specific curriculum. Once a child masters the currciculum at their level, they are recommended to move up to the next level. Some levels require a brief evaluation to be certain the child is ready to advance. Other levels require only a coach recommendation. You may leave a message at any time to talk to your child's coach about his or her skills.

Q. Do you have any performances or competitions?
A. SCEGA holds two events per year to showcase each student's accomplishments. The Mini Olympics is held each June and the Holiday Extravaganza is held in December. Students learn routines for their level and compete on all Olympic events. All participants receive awards.

Q. What other events are held at SCEGA?
A. SCEGA regularly holds Parent's Night Out parties for students and their friends ages 5 years and up. These evenings are very popular and filled with fun activities. See the web site calendar page for dates. You must pre-register your child for Parent's Night Out. SCEGA also has summer camps and sleepovers.

Q.Can my child have a birthday party at SCEGA?
A. SCEGA provides a fun place to hold your child's birthday party. Even children with no gymnastics experience have a ball playing on all the equipment! Parties are 1 1/2 hour long and we provide everything but the cake. Please see the  birthday page for more detailed information.

Q. Does SCEGA have a competitive team?
A. Yes. SCEGA has nationally and internationally recognized teams for boys and girls which you can learn more about on the girls competitive page or the boys competitive page.
